Mainstream marketing of synthetically derived cosmetics has created the myth that we can obtain total benefit from using fractionated chemical creations. Nothing could be further from the truth. Synthetic substitutes can have very serious toxic effects. Scientists can make seawater with exactly the same chemical structure as natural seawater, but when a salt-water fish is placed in this synthetic environment, the fish dies. Only nature can provide us with the efficiency to sustain and nurture life.

Franca™ Organics Revolutionary Preservative System
Franca Organics face care products contain the only complete organic preservative system in the face care industry. The formulation is created from rooibos extract, vitamin E, black willow bark extract, rosemary oleoresin and neem oil at specific levels for an incredible preservative that has revolutionized natural and organic products. With it, we can offer retailers a full 24 month shelf life for our products. That’s one full year more than conventional chemical based preservative systems such as parabens and phenoxy ethanol normally offer. Our organic preservative system sets us ahead of the competition.

Our Rejuvenating Serum and Antioxidant Vitamin Enriched Moisturizing Face Creme are Certified Vegan.
The Certified Vegan Trademark means third-party verification guarantees our Serum and Moisturizer are strictly vegan, not tested on animals, do not contain animal ingredients or animal by-products, and do not employ animal ingredients or by-products in the manufacturing process.
FSC Certified Packaging and Promotional Material
The Franca Organics commitment to an organic lifestyle extends naturally to our packaging and promotional materials. Our printer is recognized as an industry leader in environmental practices and is the first commercial printer in Canada to obtain the FSC (www.fsc.org.) chain of custody certification. This means that our packaging is made using the most environmentally friendly processes available from beginning the end, including enviro-liquids, UV inks and recycled paper stock for all our printing projects. Our tubes are made from completely recyclable LDPE #4 plastic and a ‘Please Recycle’ reminder is stamped on all products.
Nutraceuticals
Nutraceutical is the new buzz word in the face care industry but not everyone is clear on its meaning. Health Canada defines nutraceutical as a product isolated or purified from foods, sold in medicinal forms not usually associated with food and demonstrated to have a physiological or health benefit.

Scent
Unlike a synthetic fragrance that can last for hours, the scents in our products dissipate quickly. They are created from a blend of highly beneficial certified organic essential oils chosen for their individual and synergistic benefit to the skin.
Rooibos Tea
The most exciting addition to the natural and organic cosmetic industry is Rooibos Tea. For natural and organic cosmetic formulators and chemists the most important aspects of Rooibos are its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.
Recently, Japanese scientists found that Rooibos tea contains a mimic of the enzyme Super Oxide Dismutase (S.O.D.), an antioxidant which attacks the free radicals and limits their damaging effects. Super oxide radicals are produced by the human body as a result of normal metabolism; and also by exposure to microorganisms, UV, pollution, smoking, among other environmental exposures. The Super Oxide Dismutase enzymes are the body’s way of cleaning up excessive quantities of free radicals.
Rooibos Tea comes from the Red Bush plant (Aspalathus linearis) a hardy shrub which is indigenous to the Cedarburg region of South Africa. It is one of the few indigenous plants from the area that has become a major commercial crop for the region. It has a long history of medicinal use in South Africa. Rooibos tea is recommended for wide range of ailments including skin problems such as eczema, diaper rash and acne because applied topically it has a soothing effect on the skin. It is caffeine-free, low in tannins, high in minerals such as calcium and fluoride and contains high levels of antioxidants such as vitamin C.
Notes on Jasmine Hypercritical CO2 Extraction
The Jasmine flowers are extremely delicate and cannot withstand the heat generated by steam distillation. The Hypercritical CO2 Extraction method is a relatively new process used to extract fragile floral absolutes. It is completely safe and produces a very high-quality absolute since the extraction time is short and the properties of the oils are not affected by high heat. The result is an excellent but expensive product.
